Jaime Cooper is a largely self taught painter who has taken workshops at Studio Incamminati in Philadelphia and at The Art League in Alexandria, Virginia. Having received a master's degree in genetics and worked in medical research, Jaime soon found that art was her true calling, and decided to pursue it full time. She paints images with a soft focus and vintage feel inspired by her travels in America and abroad. Jaime is also an accomplished portrait artist, who was one of five artists chosen to participate in "Portraits of the Eastern Frontier" at the Southern Alleghenies Museum of Art in Ligonier, PA. One of her portraits of a civil war general has recently been chosen as the cover for an upcoming civil war history book. The author remarks in part, "gifted artist Jaime Cooper's excellent portrait of General Barksdale has captured the essence and spirit of the dynamic general... and is certainly the best one yet created by any artist." Ms. Cooper also teaches painting both privately and at the Greensburg Art Club. Her work resides in numerous collections throughout the US.
