Michael Filipiak
Michael Filipiak is a plein air artist who uses pastels to record the landscapes of Bucks and Hunterdon Counties and the seascapes of the  New England coast.  His subtle palette captures the quiet beauty of the verdant earth and the changing mood of the powerful sea.  He is a graduate of Waynesburg College where he graduated magna cum laude with a BA in Fine Arts.  Mr. Fillipiak credits his mentor , artist Frank Handlen of Kennebunkport Maine, with teaching him the value of painting outdoors in all seasons.  Filipiak has participated in many juried art exhibitions since 1996 and is the recipient of many awards including Best in Show - pastel, at the Tinicum Arts Festival, Outstanding Artist Award at Prallsville Mill, Stockton, N J, and a Patrons Award at the Phillips' Mill Art Exhibition in 2003.  His work is exhibited in galleries locally and also in Kennebunkport, Maine.
